About Gini Heywood
I THINK IN GREYS & I DREAM IN CADMIUMS! Yes, I admit it - I'm an unrepentant, unapologetic "Artoholic." I get a natural rush from art...doing it, seeing it, studying it, & conversing about it with others - artists as well as non-artists. This world is so magnificently beautiful & magnetically fascinating that I can't wait to experience it's myriad delights through my paintings. In fact, I call my paint box my "magic set" because with it I can stand before my easel as if on a stage and conjure up whatever worlds & whatever realities I desire.
But it was not always like this. After obtaining a degree in fine art from a noted art school, I didn't pick up a brush for the next thirty years. That was because, as with most art schools for several scores of decades, what passed for instruction there was nothing more than "a joke without a punchline." (Many artists will know what I mean) So it is now incredibly exhilarating to begin to paint again with a fresh eye & a renewed appreciation for the loveliness of it all.
Most of all, I want to thank you for taking a moment to view my work. I hope I don't waste your time or disappoint with my efforts. My fondest wish is that you will feel your day has been a little bit brighter for the time spent. If so, then my day has been brightened, too.
